After the success of several pop-up stores and the Zalando Beauty Station concept store in Berlin, Zalando is considering the growth of its outlet stores. Two new stores, in Leipzig and Hamburg, will open later this year. Like its big brothers in Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt am Main, they will be easily accessible in city centers and offer 20,000 products from 500 different brands (including Zalando own brands) on approximately 1000 mÂ² of floor space. “We will be offering discounts of up to 70% for items that we can no longer sell online, for example if they are missing a button or if they fall outside our range,” said the general manager of Zalando Outlets. , Dorothee SchÃ¶nfeld.
Online will always be Zalando’s priority, but point of sale is becoming an integral part of its business model, she says. “The more Zalando grows, the greater the need for our own outlets. The two new outlets will not be the last to open.” The stores will feature an elegant design with wide aisles and spacious changing rooms: the Cologne store (pictured) even received a German Design Award.
