Tell City Pretzels moves and opens 2 factory outlets

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Tell City Pretzels has announced the move of its production facility to 402 Jackson St., Jasper.

They also opened two factory outlets, one at Jackson Street in Jasper and one at Logo’s, 1001 Main Street in Tell City.

Owners Brad and Sandy Smith purchased the Tell City Pretzel Company in July 2009.

The Smiths say they plan to continue producing the famous handcrafted pretzels as they have for 12 years. They say the cooking techniques and the secret recipe remain unchanged.

The interior of “The Pretzel Experience”, Jasper’s retail outlet, allows customers to view pretzel production from the retail area and tour the facilities.

Brad says it was his passion that inspired this expansion.

“We just want you to come and see how pretzels are made because that’s, we give tours now and it’s a very unique experience, so that’s why we thought we’d do it,” Brad said. .

The history of Tell City Pretzels dates back to 1858, when Casper Gloor, a Swiss master baker, moved to Tell City.

In addition to the “traditional” pretzel that has been around since 1858, the Smiths have added a variety of flavored pieces. Flavors available include Original, Honey Mustard, Honey BBQ, Cheddar, Garlic, Salted Caramel, Buffalo, Cinnamon & Sugar, Ranch, and River City Blend.
