Discount stores

Animal lovers share their best buys at discount stores – from £ 2

The lockdown saw a growing number of pet parents and with it pet purchases which led buyers to share their best buys.

Britons collectively spent more than £ 180million a month on their pets last year, with those aged 25 to 34 paying £ 1,498 a year, according to a survey by 118 118 Silver.

But it doesn’t have to be expensive high-end purchases, as buyers of a Facebook bargain hunt page prove.

Pet owners have made their best recommendations for pet products that address everything from home hair to hot weather, which range in price from £ 2 to £ 35.

Pet coolers

The hot weather was hard for some of us but even harder for dogs .

So a coolant made the list.

It’s the Options for Dogs Neck Cooling Bandan which costs £ 8.99 at a thrift store.

The recommendations said, “My mom managed to find this for her Labrador in £ -Stretcher! Best £ 8.99 she spent on day one he didn’t gasp and tried to find a cool place! “

Pet beds

This is one of the more forgiving purchases, as most pet owners know their pets will sleep on just about anything other than the bed purchased for this purpose.

However, it was a hit with a buyer who called it a good deal – and 4,500 people loved it.

It’s called a Paws and Pooches, a Home Bargains pet sofa bed.

‘£ 34.99 pet sofa bed at Home Bargains,’ one buyer said.

And judging by the comfort of the Frenchie, it’s a worthwhile buy.

Fortune Steps

Sometimes pet owners have to be imaginative to cope with the challenges of having a pet and this idea saves that buyer a bundle.

The buyer said: “We recently installed a cat flap, to help our cat use it, my husband found this at Poundland £ 2 (it’s actually a closet organizer) looks nice and, hopefully help our kitten to use her new door “

Stores like Amazon sell Kitty Steps for up to £ 40.

Hair removal

Perhaps the most common complaint from pet owners is having a dog or cat losing hair.

But these buyers say a brush from B&M is the best they’ve found.

One said: “Found this silicone brush in B&M Bargains today. Absolutely great for removing cat / dog hair from carpet, especially stair carpet for just £ 2. “

And another said: “I only bought it today and it is the best thing I have found for removing hair from my cats on the stairs. SHINY”

Another buyer said Amazon’s £ 4.99 GUYAQ pet hair removal roller was a winner and said: “These work even better at removing pet hair.”

Value for money is important with pet toys because they end up being chewed.

One buyer gave this advice: “If you are a pet owner, it is worth checking out toys at B&M.

“Being cheap but good quality anyway for the normal price was not marked as reduced but 10p at checkout.

“How long it lasts is probably one of the best deals I’ll have for a while. She pulled it out of the bag before I had a chance to take a full picture, but it was a decent size. “
